Home run Karl!
America this IS your mission.
Take it seriously, if you don't the repercussions could be rather serious for you.
By buying an alarm clock, batteries for your flash light, and fertilizer for your lawn, all at the same time, under Janet's new proposal, gets you an automatic red flag and reported.
Swat your kid on the butt in Walmart for being a brat gets you automatically reported.
Wear a hoodie......To many tattoos.....Piercings....
Your in for a pickup, because you scared someone.
Think about it!
The only thing I've ever seen in WalMart that would be considered dangerous or suspicious is the really nasty fart that had just been emitted from someone who spent too much time in the candy aisle.
Note that Napolitano is largely personally responsible for one of the actual threats in this country in the "homeland" in the form of all the illegal Mexicans she let across her border during her tenure - many of whom are drug gang members.
Governor Ridge and I have our differences in policy, but he was, at least, competent.
Napolitano is not competent to clean a toilet.
In a WalMart

You don't have to fly to be effected.

The difference between Cholera symptoms and the Flu are minimal at best!

Janet passes on porn shot
http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/10/22/2010-10-22_body_scanners_unveiled_at_jfk_airport_homeland_security_sect_janet_napolitano_do.html
450 of these scanners are going to be installed across the country by the end of the year (paid for by you of course)and they're not even mandatory.
Yes you have the right to opt out from showing off your personal body parts to, just like the the head of Homeland Security did for the sake of humility. Which is all one can assume, for Janet's refusal to be scanned.
Or else why wouldn't she do it?
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano yesterday hailed them as an important breakthrough for airport security and the fight against terrorism.
Yet when it came to testing the devices - which produce chalky, naked X-ray images of passengers - she turned the floor over to some brave volunteers
Going through one is optional for all travelers, but Napolitano hoped to ease any fears that airport staff would use them to leer at passengers.

Cybersecurity is 'really about the people,' official says
http://www.nextgov.com/nextgov/ng_20101021_2534.php
I thought this job was the MILITARIES baby, now come to find out you can apply at USAJOBS website.
That special order for the enactment of military command in the US is smelling pretty ripe right now, especially with the needed tools of social networking. Wasn't it a given that they already used those tools, since they said they were?
Perhaps Janet Napolitano, the head of Homeland Security, could enlighten us a little more, since she is the one who issued it in such a sneaky kind of way so as to not produce any slack to place unneeded time delays on their mission.
Panelists said one challenge to building the workforce is the government's tedious hiring process. The USAJobs website is not user-friendly for candidates interested in federal positions, and the process needs to be modernized across the board, officials said. In addition, agencies must use tools like social networks and virtual job fairs that appeal to those looking for cyber-related positions.
"We've got huge interest, huge demand and federal practices that might need a little work," said Jim Lewis, director and senior fellow for the technology and public policy program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. "We have created disincentives for recruitment and pulling them down is going to be really hard."
Training and certification also is a hurdle, panelists said. Individuals need access to multidisciplinary degrees and paths to a variety of cyber career fields with the potential to advance, but the pipeline isn't being built fast enough. Cybersecurity must be considered a profession and incorporate more data-driven decision-making, they said

Pentagon Will Help Homeland Security Department Fight Domestic Cyberattacks
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/21/us/21cyber.html?src=mv
So is it REALLY the military, or is it a subcontractor.
Because from what I understand the military no longer does it's own technical work, because it's to expensive to train because of the rapidly changing technology.
This stinks to high heaven and I hope someone is looking into it.
Posse Comentadas says this is a big time no no
The Obama administration has adopted new procedures for using the Defense Department’s vast array of cyberwarfare capabilities in case of an attack on vital computer networks inside the United States, delicately navigating historic rules that restrict military action on American soil.
Computer Security (Cybersecurity)The system would mirror that used when the military is called on in natural disasters like hurricanes or wildfires. A presidential order dispatches the military forces, working under the control of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Under the new rules, the president would approve the use of the military’s expertise in computer-network warfare, and the Department of Homeland Security would direct the work.
The rules were detailed in a memorandum of agreement signed in late September by Janet Napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, but they were not released until last week.
Robert J. Butler, the Pentagon’s deputy assistant secretary for cyber policy, said the memorandum was intended to cut through legal debates about the authority for operating domestically, and to focus on how best to respond to the threat of attack on critical computer networks.
Mr. Butler said teams of lawyers would watch for potential violations of civil liberties

U.S. to house detained migrants in converted hotels
http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSTRE5955OL20091006
Converted hotels for illegal immigrants, of course the hotels that will be converted for use are all high class in dire need of financial assistance to remain open due to the economic slow down and this is a way to help them stay open courtesy of your government and your tax dollars.
Motel six will definitely not be seen as a suitable solution.
http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/24/real_estate/hotels_default/index.htm?postversion=2009072407
The question is: What did they do for your neighbor or family or your friends, when their houses were forclosed on?
It sure wasn't a suite in a luxury hotel.
The United States, criticized for holding illegal immigrants in overcrowded and poorly run jails, on Tuesday announced plans to convert hotels to detain some noncriminal immigrants.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said illegal immigrants ranging from criminals to newly arrived asylum seekers would be held in different facilities according to the risk they pose.
"This is a system that encompasses many different types of detainees, not all of whom need to be held in prison-like circumstances," Napolitano told a conference call.
Referring to noncriminals such as newly arrived asylum seekers, Napolitano said, "We will begin efforts to house these populations near immigration service providers and pursue different options like converted hotels or residential facilities for their detention."
About 32,000 immigrants to the United States are held
