People without jobs, don't go to the movies
The number of people going to cinemas this summer in America was the lowest for two decades.
A total of 533.5 million tickets were sold, down four per cent from last summer, and the worst attendance figures since 1993.
Revenues from ticket sales fell to $4.27 billion (£2.69 billion), down three per cent from a record $4.4 billion last year.
Experts said the July 20 mass shooting at a cinema in Aurora, Colorado during a showing of Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, may have had some effect.
