And they are still running this show WHY?
The incompetence is phenomenal
Who could forget the $5 billion in Obama administration stimulus money that was going to rapidly create nearly 90,000 green jobs across the country in these tough economic times and make so many thousands of homes all snuggy and warm and energy-efficient these very snowy days?
Well, a new report due out this morning will show the $5-billion program is so riddled with drafts that so far it's weatherized only about 9,000 homes.
Based on the initial Obama-Biden program promise that it would create 87,000 new jobs its first year, that would be about 10 jobs for each home weatherized so far. Makes for pretty crowded doorways.
ABC News reports that the General Accountability Office will declare today that the Energy Department has fallen woefully behind -- about 98.5% behind -- the 593,000 homes it initially predicted would be weatherized in the Recovery Act's very first, very chilly year.
The Energy Department is run by Steven Chu, like President Obama a Nobel Prize winner. You'll never guess what the federal government blames for the lack of significant progress.
RED tape.
Not duct tape. Not weatherstripping

Stimulus to bring body scanners to airports
http://money.cnn.com/2010/01/05/technology/full_body_scanner/
Oh look job creation. The question is how much is Chertoff(the ex head of Homeland security) making off of this contract?
Don't you just find it amazing how much personal supplemental income our government officials are reaping off of these contracts all in order to keep you safe from the "terrorists"
The U.S. government is using $25 million in stimulus money to buy and install full body scanners in airports this year, in an effort to ramp up security and create jobs.
The Transportation Security Administration is using funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to purchase 150 of the full body scanners, according to TSA spokeswoman Sarah Horowitz
The contract has helped create 25 jobs, mostly manufacturing positions in the company's Ocean Springs, Miss. facility, as well as some engineering jobs, he said.
Kant said the U.S. government has given the TSA the green light to spend $173 million on scanners, which includes the initial $25 million contract.
"Should we get additional orders, we will have to hire additional manufacturing positions," he said in an e-mail to CNNMoney.com.

Stimulus money and the phantom zipcode
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Phantom-zip-codes-also-found-in-Virginia-80795072.html
As much as $9.5 million in federal stimulus dollars went to 14 zip codes in Virginia that don’t exist or are in other states, Old Dominion Watchdog (http://virginia.watchdog.org) reports. The fake zip codes were listed on Recovery.gov, the federal Web site that is supposed to track how the stimulus money is being used.
The phony zip codes are a new wrinkle in Recovery.gov’s increasingly tattered credibility

Mark Penn's two firms got $6 million from stimulus for PR campaign
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/71353-mark-penn-got-6-million-from-stimulus
No your not in Kansas any more, but then again it never even came close did it?
Stimulus money's primary purpose was to support "the lying rich" and their friends that help promote the theory of their constant self serving lies.
Nearly $6 million in stimulus money was paid to two firms run by Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton’s pollster in 2008.
Federal records show that $5.97 million from the $787 billion stimulus helped preserve three jobs at Burson-Marsteller, the global public-relations and communications firm headed by Penn.
The need for additional measures has raised questions over the efficacy of the stimulus package passed earlier this year.
