Jim Jordan on the DOJ IG report: 'What's got Schiff worried?'

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio said today that Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California must be “worried” about the upcoming results of the investigation into alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Abuse conducted by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz.
The GOP’s ranking member on the House Oversight Committee was responding to comments made by the Democratic chairman of the House Intelligence Committee at the Aspen Security Forum this weekend, where Schiff suggested that Horowitz’s prior investigation of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was put on a “fast track” by the Justice Department in order to please President Trump and that its results were therefore “tainted” by politics.
“Inspector General Horowitz is a professional. He’s conducting a crucial investigation into FBI and DOJ misconduct. But @RepAdamSchiff said his investigation is ‘tainted.’ What’s got Schiff worried?” Jordan tweeted.

Horowitz concluded in February 2018 that McCabe had improperly disclosed information about an investigation to the media and

DOJ Asks Courts To Lighten Up On Qualcomm As It Battles China For 5G Supremacy

The Department of Justice wants the legal system to go lenient on Qualcomm as the telecommunications giant wrestles with a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit claiming the company is a monopoly.
“[I]n the event that the court finds liability on any of the FTC’s claims, the court should order additional briefing and hold a hearing on issues related to a remedy,” the DOJ said in a statement of interest filed in a U.S. district court in California. The court should be careful, the DOJ added, noting its concerns that a punishment could affect fifth generation mobile phone development.

Obama's Slush Fund Quietly Funneled Billions of Taxpayer Dollars to Liberal Groups

Special Counsel Mueller “deeply disturbed” by Pelosi

It's not to hard to see how Bob Mueller would be deeply disturbed, after watching the House Oversite committee for the last 2 days, with Nadler as it Chairman.
I've watched to many hearing to count in my lifetime ( yes I am a nerd like that lol), to not know what Nadler is doing, is completely against the parliamentary rule book, they use to run by. It keeps it far, so that both the minority, and the majority, both have an equal opportunity of say, during the holding of the hearings.
Nadler has completely abolished the procedure. The minority get virtually nothing to say, and no time to do it in.
It's Nadler's way, or the highway, and no objections, will be tolerated
He also knows, that he's not allowed to see the full un-redacted report.
I was surprised, that the Department of Justice, made a compromise for him, which he refused to accept.
Grand Jury private information is never revealed, and neither are other investigations that are in progress. That's just a rule of law.
Example: You gave testimony about the Mob and ruled in favor of trial. They have this thing about retribution, so it's not safe to have your name out their, because dead men/women tell no tales
Nadler knows this, and yet he persists in a manner, that is truly unbecoming toward the image, of the House of Representatives.
He accuses the President of being a dictator, when he himself, acts like one

It's Up to Schools to Teach 'Respect and Compassion,' Justice Official Says

While I do think the schools have an obligation to ensure student safety, I don't think we need to put the added pressure of teaching teaching respect and compassion. Not that I don't think that there isn't a need for it, but last week a statistic was made known that only 25% of all the children being educated right now in America, are proficient in writing.
    How piss poor is that?
Do they really think the extra burden of something more profoundly complicated is going to improve that statistic?

The effort to stop bullying doesn't begin at home. "Our common mission to stop bullying must start in our schools," said Thomas Perez, the head of the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.
Speaking Friday at a bullying prevention summit in San Francisco, Perez said, "It is in our schools that our children learn to live, play and work together. It is in our schools that fear and intolerance can take root; and it is in our schools that respect and compassion can be nurtured."
Perez’ speech included two references to “violence in the home,” but he said nothing about parents' responsibility to teach their children to behave themselves.
He did mention parents as one of many partners in the anti-bullying mission –- along with government officials and others:
"We at the Justice Department are here to stand

Report: US banks subject of money-laundering probe

Just another "unseen process" that makes the "War on Drugs" the big expensive joke that it is.
I wonder how much the fine is this time?
For some reason prison is NEVER seen as an option.

Regulators are investigating whether several major U.S. banks failed to monitor transactions properly, allowing criminals to launder money, according to a New York Times story. The newspaper cited officials who it said spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the federal agency that oversees the biggest banks, is leading the money-laundering investigation, according to the Times. The report said the OCC could soon take action against JPMorgan Chase & Co., and that it is also investigating Bank of America Corp. Money laundering allows people to make money — often obtained illegally — appear like it came from another source.

The OCC, JPMorgan and Bank of America declined to comment.

The financial industry is struggling to mend its public image. Four years after the financial crisis, banks are getting closer scrutiny. And regulators are under pressure to show that they're not missing any questionable activity.

This summer, British bank Barclays PLC settled charges that it had manipulated a key global interest rate. Standard Chartered PLC, also based in the U.K., agreed to settle charges that it had improperly

Justice Department eyes possible fraud on Wall Street

    http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/82408.html

Oh check it out, now their creating a Financial Fraud division, I guess the DoJ just didn't believe the FBI in 2004.
Talk about covering your ass as an after thought.

Turning its scrutiny to bigger fish in the subprime mortgage scandal, the Justice Department is investigating whether lenders or Wall Street firms defrauded investors in the sale of risky mortgage securities, its Criminal Division chief disclosed Thursday.

"We absolutely are looking at the conduct of the securitizers themselves, and what did they say to those who purchased the (securities)," Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer told a commission created by Congress to investigate causes of the nation's economic collapse.

"Candidly, (we) have been looking at that for awhile and are looking at that right now in a very key matter

DoJ blows the lid off the Patriot Act

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/23/watch-doj-official-blows_n_296209.html

In the debate over the PATRIOT Act, the Bush White House insisted it needed the authority to search people's homes without their permission or knowledge so that terrorists wouldn't be tipped off that they're under investigation.

Now that the authority is law, how has the Department of Justice used the new power? To go after drug dealers.

Only three of the 763 "sneak-and-peek" requests in fiscal year 2008 involved terrorism cases, according to a July 2009 report from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Sixty-five percent were drug cases.

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) quizzed Assistant Attorney General David Kris about the discrepancy at a hearing on the PATRIOT Act Wednesday. One
