Death toll more than doubled in a week and continues to grow.

The above figures are from the latest update from the Ukraine Ministry of Health. The biggest increase in cases was again in Kiev, with 6958 new cases report in the past 24 hours. The 83,243 reported cases is the second highest, which again signals the spread of the virus to the east. Lviv oblast still has the most cases, 171,781, and deaths, 81. Only 7 of the 27 reporting locations have not crossed the epidemic threshold, and now most locations have reported deaths (see map). The jump in reported deaths to 213 represents an increase of 24 in 24 hours and raises concerns that the death toll will continue to rise due to the large number of patients who are still hospitalized (25,968 of the hospitalized patients above have been discharged).
The deaths include the 90 who were detailed previously, but media reports claim that only 17of the 213 are due to swine flu, which is due to the limited testing / collection of samples. These under-representations of swine flu cases and deaths are widespread and create continual confusion. The only flu circulating in Europe is swine flu, which accounts for the vast majority of the more than 1 million cases listed above.

Massachusetts legislators have already passed pandemic influenza legislation legalizing entering homes without consent of occupants, quarantining without consent and abandoning free assembly of citizens.
The National Vaccine Information Center public vaccine education and advocacy watchdog, urges everyone to rapidly become informed about H1N1 ‘swine’ flu, vaccines and rights on freedom of choice, and to act upon them:
"As Dept of Homeland Security Officials are declaring that ‘any’ disease outbreak is a matter of ‘Homeland Security,’
As Dept of Defense are defining public demonstrations as ‘low-level terrorism,’
As plans are being made to designate 'selected US airports as quarantine centers through which all airplanes would be Re-routed for passenger health inspection;’
And as fast-tracked ‘experimental’ pandemic flu vaccines are being created to be given first to American children in schools:
It is time for all of us, whether public health doctors or ordinary citizens trying to protect our health; it is up to all of us to act in responsible and rational ways.” (Barbara Loe Fisher, 2009)

New political powers to quarantine, close schools may be tested in flu outbreak

This fall is going to be a major test around the world on just how far "The People" can be pushed by the ensuing corporate governments.
WINNIPEG — A resurgence of swine flu anticipated this fall could test new provincial powers that include being able to place sick people under quarantine in their homes and shut down schools.
Many provinces have passed updated public health acts in recent years to give them the right to do whatever a medical health officer feels is necessary to curb the spread of a communicable disease.
None of the powers has been used so far in the new H1N1 outbreak, but that could change if the country is hit with another wave of the flu, says Manitoba's top health official.
"We haven't had to quarantine or limit restrictions in the community based on our current situation," said Dr. Bunmi Fatoye, the province's acting chief public health officer.
"Would we have to do that in the future? We may. It all depends on how the disease evolves in the fall. That would determine what measures to take, if we think that method of quarantine would limit the spread of the disease
