Intelligence Committee Chair Describes Explosive Confrontation Between Netanyahu and American Ambassador

And now, for the ultimate of release coincidences, in a
"No look this way" directive, we will all hear the rehash, Of Mike Roger's much denied argument, with "the Chosen's" very own, bad tempered bad boy,
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Damn I hate reruns

Rep. Mike Rogers, the Michigan Republican who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, says that his much-discussed meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem late last month did, in fact, devolve into an sharp confrontation between Netanyahu and the American ambassador to Israel, the former National Security Council official (and former Obama campaign Jewish liaison), Dan Shapiro.

Rogers told a Michigan radio interviewer earlier this week that he had not previously witnessed such a high-level confrontation, and he described Israeli leaders as being at "wits' end" over what they see as President Obama's unwillingness to provide them with his "red lines" in the effort to stop Iran's nuclear program. He also said that neither the Israelis nor the Iranians believe that Obama would use force to stop the nuclear program. (UPDATE: Rogers said as well he believes the Israelis will "probably" bomb Iran if they don't get clearer red lines from the U.S.)

Rogers description of the meeting directly contradicts repeated Administration assertions that there is "no daylight" on the Iran issue with the Israeli government. Shortly after the meeting took place, Israeli press reports appeared suggesting that Netanyahu and Shapiro had engaged in an argument, but Shapiro

Israel's future 'at risk' if Iran strike sanctioned

Hmm I wonder what those defects were. Here in America we're never told if there were problems. It's all made out to be just guns and roses resulting in the ultimate victory.

The former Supreme Court judge appointed by Israel's government to investigate the defects of its 2006 war against Lebanon has issued an outspoken warning that a unilateral strike on Iran's nuclear facilities could "endanger the future of the country".

Here's hoping Israel will listen for everybody's sake

Judge Eliyahu Winograd's warning came as the US was reported to be planning a series of military preparations designed both to convince Israel to hold back from such a strike and Iran to take more seriously the stalemated negotiations designed to halt its perceived progress towards a nuclear weapons capability.

Oh wow, the things you learn when you're cruisin the news

Judge Winograd used an Army Radio interview to deride the claim by the Defence Minister Ehud Barak that no more than 500 Israelis would be killed in retaliation for a strike and questioned whether his own severe criticism of the military's and the previous government's handling of the Lebanon war had been taken to heart.

War game shows how attacking Iran could backfire

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2010/02/2...k=omni_popular

Here's a war game involving Iran, Israel and the U.S. that shows how unintended consequences can spin out of control:

With diplomacy failing and precious intelligence just received about two new secret Iranian nuclear facilities, Israel launches a pre-emptive strike against Tehran's nuclear complex. The strike is successful, wiping out six of Iran's key sites and setting back its suspected quest for a bomb by years.

But what happens next isn't pretty.
