Ben actually came out and said, The loans needed to be made in the right way?
OMG....Busted.
Was that his idea of regulation? A little reminder to do right?
Now think Ben and Hank lying to congress about what they were going to do with the money.
Hank made it real clear and made sure of the fact that he couldn't be held personally responsible for actions that needed to be taken.
Coz he knew he was covering up a crime, and odds are the Senate knew to.
Else why would they give the money to him when the people had already made it clear that the consideration was off the table and the House voted it as such and the motion was killed.
All these "Fancy Schmancy Financial Products" - remember this quote?
Ben Bernanke, 5/18/2006:
"Our assessment at this point ... is that this looks to be a very orderly and moderate kind of cooling," Bernanke said.
"We're not saying you shouldn't make these loans. What we're saying is that they be done the right way," Bernanke told the banking conference.
What was Citibank's Chief Underwriter saying at the same time?
“In mid-2006, I discovered that over 60 percent of these mortgages purchased and sold were defective,” Bowen testified on April 7 before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission created by Congress. “Defective mortgages increased during 2007 to over 80 percent of production.”
He also reported this up the chain to senior Management.
The Federal Reserve, and The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, are the primary regulators for these large banking institutions.
They - including Ben Bernanke personally - knew full well what was going on with "these loans" AND THEY LIED TO CONGRESS AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WORSE, THEY'RE STILL LYING!
Let me be plain about this:
This entire mess - all of it - the entire housing bubble and subsequent collapse, along with the unemployment, poverty, privation and loss - occurred due to the intentional blindness and refusal to regulate by the people entrusted by YOU to keep your money, your credit, and our economy safe and sound.
Instead of doing their jobs they literally gave these financial institutions a license to rob you blind and then assault you from the rear for good measure.
These executives and the regulators knew full well what was going on. They were fully aware of the defective nature of these loans. They did nothing - on purpose - to stop it.
And now, more than three years into this mess, not only have they done nothing but neither political party has addressed the problem nor has there been
George Orwell once said: In a universe designed by deceit, The truth is an act of Revolution

To The Tea Party: Go Screw Yourself
http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=169769
I was for the Tea Party to a few years back.
The original concept of the Tea Party was to get back to running the country by the standards the Constitution set, rather than by the political flavor of the day.
The concept of the Tea Party was such a big hit with "the people"
that it to had to be infiltrated by the politically corrupt as their own ideals.
Now it's nothing more than a bogus front for the same ole same ole.
I'm like Karl, I'm going for the write in on the ballot
If I'm going to shine a light on someone, it's going to at least be directed at the head guy, rather than one of his lowly minions.
The "Devil" gets his due, rather than one of his piss-ant wannabees.
Because a Spade is always a Spade, and should be called as such!
Let's look at their mission statement:
•Fiscal Responsibility
•Constitutionally Limited Government
•Free Markets
Then look at what's over at TeaParty.Org: you'll find the usual pablum. Guns, gays, God.
Heh, I like talking about Guns, Gays and God too. Let's talk about all of them within the context of The Constitution, which is what the Tea Party was supposed to be about.

Tea Party moves from margins to mainstream in US politics
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/7111332/Tea-Party-moves-from-margins-to-mainstream-in-US-politics.html
This is the real definition of the Tea Party movement. They are a group of average Americans that can no longer relate to an ever growing grossly overpopulated government that is destroying the foundation on which our country was formed.
The Tea Party movement is a catch-all phrase to describe a movement of everyday Americans who are asserting themselves for the first time in their lives because they fear the direction this country is going," he told The Sunday Telegraph. "They are great people and our campaign is built on the same principles."
Sarah Palin belongs to the big government crowd, her extravagant waste (the bridge to no where, one among others)guarantees her a seat in the governments hall of shame, for extravagant wasters.
Be aware of all those that want too ride the coattails of the American peoples anger to suit there own agenda.
If she could walk away from Alaska and her constituents there, her actions of self service must always remain in the forefront of the public's mind and not something to be disregarded lightly.
The movement is certainly experiencing some growing pains. Most notably, major splits have emerged ahead of the first Tea Party convention in Nashville this week over the $550 ticket charge for participants, to pay a reported $100,000 speaking fee for Sarah Palin.

Tea partiers march on U.S. Capitol
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=109628
Taxpayers revolt against out-of-control spending
Hundreds of thousands of taxpayers stormed Washington, D.C., today, taking their fight against excessive spending, bailouts, growth of big government and soaring deficits to the front door of the U.S. Capitol.
All week citizens have been heading to the Hill by the busloads for the showdown today. The Tea Party Patriots' "Tea Party Express" national bus tour has been hosting a series of tea party rallies all across the nation. A caravan of buses, speakers and entertainers arrived in Washington, D.C., just in time for the march. The taxpayers have paid their own way to the event.
The White House said Friday it was unaware of the rally. President Obama has traveled to Minneapolis, Minn., to promote his health care plans at a rally there.
But so many taxpayers showed up on Pennsylvania Avenue that the crowd ran out of room and the march was forced to begin early.
WND was at the scene to get crowd reaction and take photos of the protest.
