EU working on consumer labels for Israeli settlement products

I think the world is very tired of the "rigged" game that Israel plays and is not accepting it any longer.

Denmark is fronting an EU initiative to help consumers boycott Israeli settlement products.

Its foreign ministry is funding an event in Brussels on 23 October to get EU diplomats and NGOs, such as Oxfam and Crisis Action, talking about EU-level guidelines for consumer labels on settlement goods.

The move comes after EU foreign ministers in May said they will "fully and effectively implement existing EU legislation" on the subject.

The EU says settlements are illegal. But its regular complaints about settlement expansion fall on deaf ears.

"The [October] workshop is designed to put the issue back on the agenda and to put action behind the words of the May conclusions ... We want to make it easier for consumers to vote with their wallet," a Danish diplomat told EUobserver.

Gaza Strip: Israeli strikes 'kill six militants'

At least six Palestinians have been killed in two Israeli strikes in Gaza against what Israel says were militants preparing rocket and bomb attacks.

Palestinians said three were killed by Israeli fire in the north of the strip on Thursday morning. Israel said they were planting a bomb near its fence.

Hours earlier, an air strike in central Gaza killed three militants who Israel said were set to fire rockets.

There has been a spate of rocket attacks and air strikes in recent days.

In the latest incident, Israel said it had fired at a "terrorist squad that was planting an explosive device" near the town of Beit Hanoun.

The men were reportedly part of a small militant group called Homat Al-Aqsa.

Rabbi Dov Lipman didn’t plan to spend his morning cleaning anti-Christian graffiti off of the wall of a monastery.

Not all Jews act the same and their belief systems vary to.

But the American-born Beit Shemesh activist said that it was impossible for him to walk away from the 122 year-old Latrun monastery while it was still bore the marks of the vandalism that took place a day earlier after its door was set on fire and it was defaced with hateful graffiti. The vandalism was suspected to have been a “price tag” attack by right-wing elements angry over the evacuation of Migron.

Lipman had led a six-member group from the community bearing flowers and a message of peace, he recounted:

“When we were just about to leave and workers were cleaning the door of the monastery that was lit on fire, and there was a guy who was scrubbing that said “Jesus was a monkey.” I felt, how could just give them and give flowers and walk away while this terrible thing another Jew did was up there. So I asked if we could help clean it away. At first, the worker cleaning it hesitated, but then he gave me his brush and cleaning solution, and we didn’t walk away until it was removed. I’m glad we did. It was wonderful to be part of the ‘tikkun’ (repair.)”

The spoils of war. One would think in this day and age that, that would be an outlawed posibility. The UN does, but Israels attitude is "tough shit",
We do what we want for we are the chosen.
The Uncouth question is: Chosen what and by whom?
The Palistians that they are evicting are nomadic farmers, in the off season they're not there. They pose no threat what so ever. This is not something new to them, it's part of their cultural heritage.

Here is a politically uncorrect question for you: Why is Israel the only country in the world allowed access into our Federal government, though the use of duel citizenship?

It's not legal under United States Constitutional law.

Israeli police arrest rioting teenage Jewish settlers as they try to remove them from the unauthorised outpost of Migron in the occupied West Bank

Last week the court rejected an appeal by the settlers to delay the evacuation, which a separate ruling a year ago decided was built on privately owned Palestinian land.

Migron is one of dozens of hilltop outposts built more than a decade ago without Israeli government authorisation on land captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East War but which Palestinians claim for a hoped-for independent state.

The United Nations deems all Israeli settlements in the West Bank to be illegal. Israel disputes this and distinguishes between about 120 settlements it has sanctioned and about 100 outposts erected by settlers without authorisation.
