During the second week of March 2012, a Dell Vostro notebook, used by Supervisor Special Agent Christopher K. Stangl from FBI Regional Cyber Action Team and New York FBI Office Evidence Response Team was breached using the AtomicReferenceArray vulnerability on Java, during the shell session some files were downloaded from his Desktop folder one of them with the name of ”NCFTA_iOS_devices_intel.csv” turned to be a list of 12,367,232 Apple iOS devices including Unique Device Identifiers (UDID), user names, name of device, type of device, Apple Push Notification Service tokens, zipcodes, cellphone numbers, addresses, etc. the personal details fields referring to people appears many times empty leaving the whole list incompleted on many parts. no other file on the same folder makes mention about this list or its purpose.
Somebody for got to mention SS#'s as well as bank accounts and any CC#'s,stock acts, used on those devices. So now anything you have done can be tracked by the jackboots of the IRS, or could be used to blackmail you into submission.
Some people actually cop a score (think buy a little weed)on those devices.
The hacker group that got the file released at least part of it.
Now here's my question -- How did the FBI obtain the file?
That's what you ought to be wondering. More to the point: Is Apple providing the FBI with every customer's registration and sale details? And if they're not -- who is?
Let's be real here folks -- 12 million UDIDs is a hell of lot of them. Are you willing to believe that there was no "official transfer" from "somewhere" to the FBI of that data?
It was a Bush era thing, that is still in application today.
Remember when all the cell companies got busted and sued for doing it, but then Bush pardoned them for it and said carry on. We need it to find the terrorists BS?
No one is above suspicion.
If I where you, I'd dump the phones, all and every kind. Go back to paying your bills by check, all that paper is so much harder for them to go through and link up. It also helps to keep your mail carrier in a job.
