What a twist
As a society we condone birth control pills being issued by a Maine school to eleven year olds
And yet we oppose a marriage between a 16 year old girl and an older man.
As a society the only thing that does stand out clear to me is the simple fact that we all have different beliefs of what is and isn't tolerable.
I am personally horrified that they took 416 children that had virtually no immunities to the worlds diseases and rather than isolate them threw them into the general population of the system. Some of the children have already contracted chicken pox. Their mother's must be beside themselves with worry and fear. They themselves having been isolated can't have much experience in the handling of this disease, let alone the fact that they are prime candidate to contract it themselves. How scared they must be for themselves and their children.
Who are we to say polygamy is wrong. These children were clean and well nourished.
How is this any different than today's single mother who have all to many boyfriends commonly refered to as Uncles, that don't stick around and take care of the children they spawn.
I was rather taken aback by one of the comments I read. It seems some would consider the teaching of modesty a crime, as is having long hair. I myself deem it as a personal choice, not one society should make for you. If it is a crime than I await my sentencing, for I dare to go against
what society deems as the standard norm. I choose to be free to be myself, and not a cardboard cut out to please the masses.
