MILLIONS of people will be given a secret swine flu jab by health bosses this winter.

MILLIONS of people will be given a secret swine flu jab by health bosses this winter.

The H1N1 vaccine will be mixed into the regular flu jab for OAPs, pregnant women and others at high risk.

While millions refused to take the jab during last winter's pandemic, this time they will have no choice if they want to be protected against normal flu.

The Government was left with more than 30million swine flu vaccines after the pandemic fizzled out in 2010.

Some types of swine flu vaccinations are suspected of being linked to an increase in the rare condition narcolepsy, which causes sufferers to suddenly fall asleep at random times.

In Finland, one brand - Pandemrix, produced by GlaxoSmithKline - was banned, and officials in Sweden have started a Europe-wide investigation into it.

An NHS spokesman said that while the pandemic of the H1N1 swine flu virus was over, the disease was still a threat.

The Department of Health said the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority, which monitors vaccines, had given the H1N1 jab the all-clear after fears in Europe over the narcolepsy outbreak.

She added: "By March this year, that particular H1N1 vaccine had been given out 5.5million times and there have been no reported cases of narcolepsy in Britain."

Dozens of Australian children fall ill from flu vaccine

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/children_shealth/7622112/Dozens-of-Australian-children-fall-ill-from-flu-vaccine.html

And this is the cure. Really is it worth it?

Doctors across Australia have been ordered to stop giving young children the seasonal flu vaccine after 44 children fell ill hours after being immunised

The otherwise healthy children, all aged under five, suffered fevers, vomiting and febrile convulsions after receiving the vaccination. More than 20 were admitted to hospital and at least one child is seriously ill.

Jim Bishop, the country's chief medical officer, said that he was suspending vaccinations for under-five as a "precautionary measure". He said that children who had received the vaccine in the last 24 hours should be monitored closely by their parents.

"Until we know more we've suggested that we don't use that [seasonal flu vaccine] for the moment in children under five," he told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

"I'm advising all doctors today not to use it until we know a bit more.

"This may be part of the normal pattern once we see the whole picture, or it may be more than we would expect. "Therefore I just think it's wise and precautionary not to use it in children under five

'Swine flu virus began life in lab'

The number of confirmed cases of swine flu has topped over a hundred thousand, with the World Health Organization calling the pandemic 'unstoppable', and suggesting mass vaccination

US: 160M doses of swine flu vaccine due in Oct.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090724/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_med_swine_flu_vaccine

Greed kills and big Pharma is willing to accept that risk, since it's only your life they are gambling with

The U.S. may have as many as 160 million doses of swine flu vaccine available sometime in October, even though manufacturers worldwide are having serious trouble brewing shots, federal health officials said Thursday.

The Food and Drug Administration may formally approve much of that vaccine before studies required to prove how well it works are completed, treating the new inoculations just like the recipe change that regular winter flu vaccine undergoes each year.

That doesn't mean mass vaccinations would start before key information from studies of thousands of volunteers is in, U.S. officials stressed Thursday. Most of those studies start next month to determine if people will need one shot or two for good protection and how high a dose should be in each shot. The earliest results should start arriving in September and October.

But the FDA told its scientific advisers it could finish the red tape of licensing much of that vaccine well before the use-it-or-not decision is made — because it's brewed exactly the same as regular winter flu vaccine, merely using the new swine influenza virus, part of the common H1N1 influenza family, as the chief ingredient. Companies just have to take the normal steps required for each year's regular winter flu vaccine, such as proving the inoculations are manufactured appropriately.

Taking the same path now will save some important time because "the virus is ahead of us," said FDA vaccine chief Dr. Norman Baylor. This "is not a rubber stamp. We do need to review some data to give us some comfort that that vaccine will provide some benefit

If “accidental” contamination is virtually impossible, then intentional contamination likely

If “accidental” contamination is virtually impossible,
then intentional contamination likely
http://cottontopssandbox.wordpress.com/2009/03/28/european-labs-discover-flu-vaccines-contaminated/

The shocking answer is that this couldn’t have been an accident. Why? Because Baxter International adheres to something called BSL3 (biosafety level 3)-a set of laboratory safety protocols that prevent the cross-contamination of materials. Laboratory personnel have specific training in handling pathogenic and potentially lethal agents and are supervised by competent scientists who are experienced in working with these agents. …All procedures involving the manipulation of infectious materials are conducted within biological safety cabinets or other physical containment devices, or by personnel wearing appropriate protective clothing and equipment. The laboratory has special engineering and design features.”

Under the BSL3 code of conduct, it is impossible for live avian flu viruses to contaminate production vaccine materials that are shipped to vendors throughout the world.

This leaves only two possibilities

FDA says Zicam nasal spray can cause loss of smell

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/FDA-says-Zicam-nasal-spray-apf-15537702.html

Didn't the FDA pass this drug for consumer use in the first place? Why yes it did.
So one would have to assume that long term effects were studied and taken into account or discount as the case may be.
Greed kills. Do you think it's a good idea to allow a potentially mandatory flu vaccine to be fast tracked without the rigors of Zicam's testing to be approved?

The Food and Drug Administration says Zicam nasal spray can permanently damage users' sense of smell.

The FDA says consumers should stop using Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel and related products immediately. All the over-the-counter products contain zinc. Scientists say that ingredient may damage nerves in the nose needed for smell.

US military 'monitoring' flu outbreak

Don't take the shot!

Vaccine failure for H1N1 is supported by reports from other countries. In Italy, the first five confirmed H1N1 cases were Tamiflu resistant, and three of the five isolates were from vaccinated patients, supporting the failure rate described above in South Dakota.

Indirect evidence came from South Korea, were the vast majority of influenza cases were oseltamivir-resistant H1N1. Influenza exploded at the beginning of 2009, with ILI visits jumping to levels that were twice as high as last season.

Similar results were also reported in Japan, were school closings were widespread, and investigations in the fall identified oseltamivir resistant H1N1 as the etiological agent. Moreover, H1N1 testing of isolates produced reduced titers relative to Brisbane/59, the vaccine strain for this season.

Reports from Taiwan also indicated that vaccines failed in 70% of the H1N1 cases and Tamiflu resistant H1N1 dominated in collections after December, 2008.
