Money has become more important than easing the suffering.
How much sense does the new morality make anymore?
You know the part that says "Fuck you if you can't pay what I want than your problem is not my problem.
What do Doctors or Politicians or Financiers or Ball Players do that they should actually be paid anymore than a Teacher or a Cop or Construction Worker really?
What makes their lives so much more important than your own, that they must command outrageous amounts just to do their job?
Why is a nursery attendant paid any less than a Doctor, the job they do is right up there on the scale of importance if you stop to think about.
So is a Cops for that matter.
With out either one of them, if their serve is needed in your life and you can't count on them to do their job the health of your livelihood if not life can be placed in serious jeopardy.
No one is anymore important than anyone else in the job chain.
They only are if you allow them to believe they are.
Try doing without your garbageman, after a few weeks if that long of not servicing his route, you understand just how vital and important he is to the health and safety of the community.
It's time to get real people.
We can no longer afford those that think "WE" can can't do without them.
They also need to understand that they can't do with out "us".
The Doctors are now lobbying to do away with the pay cuts, they want the taxpayer to continue to foot the bill, and it's a bill that "WE" can no longer afford in the amounts that they wish to be paid for.
Something has to give and it cannot be the addition of more debt.
The prescription program that Bush pushed down our throat needs to go to. It wasn't something that "WE" could ever afford in the first place.
Caps should be put on medication prices, profiteering off of medical problems is just plain wrong, and should no longer be tolerated.

Sometimes there can be no miracle and the inevitable must be accepted. For the sake of our nation this issue must be addressed for exactly what it is. Financial responsibility, because hope can't fix everything, even though we wish it could.
FLINT, Mich. — Carol Y. Vliet’s cancer returned with a fury last summer, the tumors metastasizing to her brain, liver, kidneys and throat.
That's very bad, by the way.
As she began a punishing regimen of chemotherapy and radiation, Mrs. Vliet found a measure of comfort in her monthly appointments with her primary care physician, Dr. Saed J. Sahouri, who had been monitoring her health for nearly two years.
She was devastated, therefore, when Dr. Sahouri informed her a few months later that he could no longer see her because, like a growing number of doctors, he had stopped taking patients with Medicaid.
For what purpose was she being put through Chemo and Radiation "therapy"?
Look, I don't mean to sound callous, but there are times we must be objective. This is one of them.

Medicare to cap payments amid rampant fraud

How will this effect Hospice billing, because I'm pretty sure it is billed for under Medicare. I personally have had the use of their services twice regarding both my parents. Had it not been for them I really can't imagine how I would have been able to provide the proper care my parents needed in their last days.
Fueled by massive fraud, home healthcare providers in Miami-Dade County are raking in more Medicare money than their colleagues in the rest of the country combined -- thanks to bogus billings for patients with diabetes, authorities say.
Now, Medicare is taking tough steps to stop agencies from filing hundreds of millions of dollars a year in false claims.
The federal agency is proposing a nationwide cap that would reduce Medicare reimbursements to any agency treating homebound patients with diabetes or other chronic ailments. The proposed limit: 10 percent of the bill.
Though national in scope, Medicare's plan is really aimed at shutting down hundreds of home healthcare agencies in Miami-Dade suspected of submitting phony claims for twice-daily insulin injections by a visiting nurse, officials said.
``We looked at [Miami-Dade] as an albatross because it was weighing us all down,'' said William Dombi, a vice president at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, a Washington trade group that pitched the 10 percent cap to Congress. ``It's beyond an embarrassment -- it's harmful to everyone across the country.''
