Roxbury Parents Say Needle Dropbox In Front Of School Is Not The Answer To Needles Littering Neighborhood

How sad is it when this is our society's solution, to an overwhelming drug problem.
What chance do our children have, when this is their example?
As well as society's solution

It’s a picture that speaks to a crisis. A needle disposal box popped up right in front of Roxbury’s Orchard Gardens K-8 school this week, installed by the Boston Department of Public Health.

“I do believe that it is a little too big, excessive for it to be in front of the school like that,” said Francisco Diaz, whose son is a student at the school.
But five months ago, parents were out front protesting about the used drug needles littering the property around Orchard Gardens. That’s why Diaz says he understands why it’s there. “I’m kind of glad they’re doing something,” said Diaz. One community activist says the needle box has not made a difference. “These things are embedded into the ground,” said Domingos DaRosa, picking up several used needles from the ground. “In a matter of two seconds, we just, we have four needles here.”

Convicted wife-murderer gets taxpayer-funded sex change

To be forced to have your tax dollars go for this is just BS.
It isn't cruel and inhuman punishment to deny this joker.
It also sets a precedent to enable others to be allowed the same type of procedure, it also opens up, as the guards said issues about his/her safety.
Will we now be forced to build a third type of prison, due to the excessive cost of the legal settlements we will be forced to fork out, for every time they are raped in prison?

Robert Kosilek was married to a woman. Then he murdered her and went to prison, where he changed his name to Michelle and began identifying as a woman.

Now a federal judge in Boston has ruled that Kosilek is entitled to a taxpayer-funded sex-change operation because he has “gender-identity disorder.”

“Everybody has the right to have their health care needs met, whether they are in prison or out on the streets,” the AP quotes

Who made these decisions and were the taxpayers asked or told?

Municipalities and States Adopt MERS® System to Ease Foreclosure, Vacant Property Registration
Boston, Los Angeles, Connecticut and Virginia allow the MERS® System
as an alternative to existing proprietary registries

RESTON, Va., Aug. 24, 2010—This month, the City of Los Angeles joined the Commonwealths of Virginia and Massachusetts, and the State of Connecticut, in accepting the MERS® System as an alternative to the City’s registry of foreclosed properties and property preservation contacts for vacant properties.

“Many law enforcement agencies and municipalities already use the MERS® System on an informal basis to find a loan’s servicer and identify the companies responsible for maintaining vacant properties in their area,” said R. K. Arnold, President and Chief Executive Officer of MERSCORP, Inc. “By formally allowing lenders and property preservation companies to use the MERS® System as a suitable location to store this information, the City of Los Angeles can save money and the time it takes to find the data.”

Current MERS members can use the system to register the identity of the property preservation company responsible for maintaining vacant properties, which are frequently in foreclosure. The MERS® System can track both residential and commercial properties.

“Maintaining residential vacant properties in foreclosure is important to prevent blight and to protect property values,” said Doug Guthrie, General Manager of Los Angeles Housing Department. “We’re able to see these benefits more quickly while saving on the city budget by partnering with MERS, whose system is immediately available and already in use by many property preservation companies.”

Fog bank adds an air of mystery to a Boston afternoon

http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/08/12/fog_bank_adds_an_air_of_mystery_to_a_boston_afternoon/

Unusual lol,I know for a fact I'd have been waiting for something to emerge.
Stephan King wrote a story about it, and he told it stick with you kind of creepy, and let me tell you it stuck.

Fog in the afternoon may seem odd, but there’s a scientific explanation.

The morning fog we’re used to is called “radiation fog.’’ At night the temperature drops and the earth is giving off energy. As the temperature reaches the dew point, fog forms.

Yesterday’s fog was different. It is called “advection fog,’’ and it forms over an already cool surface like water and is gradually carried inland by the wind.
