I woke upon a nightmare
A strange mixture of the time
A rather scary fare
But no sense that I can find

It was a mix of old and now
But scrambled in my head
Eggs cracked in a bowl
But no whisk to blend them in

I'm hoping it's the fever
That makes me feel this unwell
And not a premonition
For the terror felt like hell

I was in the shower
No curtain there to pull
And at the bathroom window
A peep was looking in

I screamed for my older brother
My mom said what no way
No one would believe me
So the terror stay

I open up the backdoor
And there he was again
My dog of now then took off
And chased his ass down then

Out of my yard he ran
But then circled back again
I ran back in my house
And woke up there and then

Uneasy is this feel
One I just can't seem to drop
I know the dream wasn't real
But this terror just won't stop

My dog was different to
She lay by my side instead
Of her customary place
On the floor at the foot of my bed

I thought perhaps I'd woke
By a let off of a scream
But she just lay there snoring
Having her own dog dreams
