It's hard on my heart he taught me a lot
He always had a story or a joke to make me blush
It was in the point of his telling that always gave me the rush
Very few people in life can make you laugh that much
He had a faith in me that I could never understand
Because he was old southern where woman are different than men
And the thought was never lost that I was respected like a man
I was the only female that I ever knew who made the exception to his manly rule
