My neighbors Mr & Mrs G
They've always lived there, at least as long as I've been here.
Mr G is 89. He has heart problems but he's spry for his age.
They love each other very much and I have never ever heard them argue
or say a cross word to each other, until yesterday.
Mr G decided he was going to mow the dirt again and had proceeded to do so.
That's when I heard Mrs G screaming. They can't afford Mr G's meds anymore.
His retirement isn't cutting it. Things are just getting that bad.
I couldn't believe it was her, I thought it must have been the kids. I was in the house and he was mowing and I could here everything she said to him. She weighs all of 70lbs max. You can hardly hear her when she speaks to you normally.
I almost wish it had happened on April fools day, then I could pass it off as a joke and forget it.
But it didn't and I can't.
There's a lot of elderly people in my neighborhood and I can see things are changing for them drastically. Smitty doesn't drive around anymore and talk to people, he can't afford the gas.
He can't walk to far or to fast, which poses a problem, since neither the cops nor the dog catcher can catch or kill two pit bulls running loose. Needless to say the kids have been very cooped up.
These people have their homes paid for, but their income won't make it anymore.
I'm very worried for them. Their children are retiring to, they can't help them.
Their scared and I can't blame them. Their to old for change this drastic.
