I can love you the way I want to
No bars to watch or hold
The freedom is there to just love you
Like love I was taught to hold

This age says no freedom
Some sort of competitive force to stand
I rather just be a woman
And free to love my man

I don't find that a wrong thought
But maybe it's hard to understand
A woman's love is to nurture
Not compete against her man

I'd rather take care of my Baby
More with God's original plan
Stress just makes a shrew of a woman
And then she takes it out on her man

My grandparent's were very old school
Their love always stayed together as planned
Pa always held to the old rule
That a woman was meant only to take care of her man

It's hard to unlearn that kind of lesson
Because it works I've seen it first hand
I don't forget it because I don't want to
It the only way to really love a man
