My daughter's friend had a secret
To no adult would she tell
She was less that sixteen
Her boy was a dream
Then her belly started to swell
She sought to have an abortion
Out of the state as well
By a man she didn't know
Who would take her to the show
And possible end her own life as well
My daughter couldn't keep a secret
So to her momma she came and cried
I intervened and ended the scene
And gave her a choice
Of the truth or her pride
Because if she chose the position of pride
Then as a mother the truth would have to override
And to her parents I would go and confide
Well needless to say
To chose the right way
And put all doubt of her love aside
And told her mom the what and the why
And today has a child whose right by her side
Some secrets should not be kept
No matter what
